Graham Harfleet
I have been a Progressive Rock fan since the early 1970s, with a particular fondness for artists such as Peter Hammill/Van Der Graaf Generator, Yes, ELP, Jethro Tull, Todd Rundgren/Utopia, Genesis, Pat Metheny, Renaissance, Triumvirat, Camel, Barclay James Harvest, Pink Floyd, Rush, Supertramp, Focus, Vangelis, The Enid, Steve Hackett, Klaus Schulze and Tangerine Dream, along with many of the more relatively recent artists such as Steven Wilson/Porcupine Tree, Riverside, Spock’s Beard, Opeth, The Tangent, IQ, Damanek, Magenta, Threshold, Kaipa and Mostly Autumn, to name just a few.
I first started broadcasting in November 2013 for Salford City Radio 94.4 FM, presenting a weekly one-hour Progressive Rock show which ran from January 2014 until September 2018. In addition to this pre-recorded show, I occasionally presented live shows from the Salford City Radio studios.
In April 2018 I joined the Presenter team at Progzilla Radio and for a while presented a generic show for both Progzilla and Salford. I had maintained my connection with Salford, despite moving away from the area in 2016. In September 2018, I made the decision to produce my shows exclusively for Progzilla Radio and my hour-long show was extended to two hours in October 2018.
My Sunday evening show on Progzilla Radio covers all time eras as well as all sub-genres of Progressive Rock and can often include elements of classical and jazz too, together with an “Ivor Cutler Moment” most weeks.
